Meghan has been working in retirement living for many years. Earning her Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy from Temple University, Meghan began working as an Activities Coordinator in a local retirement community shortly after graduation.

From there, Meghan’s long-rooted history with Liberty Lutheran, the parent organization of Paul’s Run, began. “I started working at The Hearth at Drexel, which is a part of the Liberty Lutheran family of services, back in 1991. I was the Director of Activities there,” Meghan explains. Working at The Hearth for several years, as Meghan’s family grew, she decided to take a break from her career to raise her three children.

Later, Meghan desired to enter the workforce once again and discovered an opportunity at Paul’s Run. “I joined the Paul’s Run team in 2012 as a social worker with our healthcare residents,” she says. Meghan was thrilled to be a part of the community and worked in this position for four more years. Sadly, Meghan experienced a sudden family emergency that required her attention and she temporarily took a break from working once again.

A close-knit community: Supporting one another through challenging times…

“Paul’s Run was so incredible in supporting me through that challenging time. It was amazing how often they would call and check in on me and my family. This community is so caring and we are all very close,” Meghan reflects. After tending to her family’s needs, Megan was ready to return to the community when a very exciting opportunity crossed her path. “The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. In 2017, I discovered the position for Resident Services Coordinator, and I’ve been in this role ever since,” she says happily.

Reuniting with the Paul’s Run family, Meghan was excited to resume her journey with this wonderful community. “This role has really been amazing for me because I’m combining my skills in social work and recreational therapy,” she emphasizes.

As Resident Services Coordinator, Meghan ensures the best living experience possible for the people who call Paul’s Run home. She especially enjoys welcoming new residents to the community and ensuring they have a smooth transition. “When residents move in, there’s a lot of hustle and bustle with movers and unpacking and it can be a lot to process. I enjoy being a support system for residents through that time and helping them settle in. I like to make sure they know about all of our amenities,” she affirms.

Whether residents are engaging in exercise classes, signing up for activities like flower arranging, or enjoying five star quality meals, at Paul’s Run there are so many aspects of community life to enjoy. As Meghan helps residents make the most of their living experience, she says her role is similar to that of a concierge.

“I’m our residents’ go-to person for anything they need. If they have any questions or need help with anything I’m there,” she says. From running small errands like trips to the grocery store and post office, setting up residents’ phones within their apartments, or simply stopping by to socialize, Meghan enjoys building close relationships and getting to know the people of this community.

“Our residents make me smile. I enjoy being a support system for them and helping them settle into the community. They are more than residents to me. They are friends and family.”
